Lost in Translation

In her past life, before us, before ASH, KiKi had apparently been kept by a family from Finland. I joked that we might need a phrasebook to help us communicate better with her, that English might not be her first language. At times, even now, she simply stares, unmoving as you ask something of her, whether it’s to “Come here”, or “Stop!” We have even questioned whether or not she was actually called KiKi in the first place, so well developed is her ability to completely disregard a call or command. It did actually seem to take week or so before you could expect her to respond to the name we continue to use. One day, I’ll try Finnish and see if things change.
